관세법 제231조(환적물품 등에 대한 유치 등)

① 세관장은 제141조에 따라 일시적으로 육지에 내려지거나 다른 운송수단으로 환적 또는 복합환적되는 외국물품 중 원산지를 우리나라로 허위 표시한 물품은 유치할 수 있다.

② 제1항에 따라 유치하는 외국물품은 세관장이 관리하는 장소에 보관하여야 한다. 다만, 세관장이 필요하다고 인정할 때에는 그러하지 아니하다.

③ 세관장은 제1항에 따라 외국물품을 유치할 때에는 그 사실을 그 물품의 화주나 그 위임을 받은 자에게 통지하여야 한다.

(3) When웬 the^ð더 head헤드 of어^v브 a어 customs커스텀즈 office오^f피스 detains디테인즈 foreign^f포^r런 goods구즈 under언더 paragraph패^r러그^r래^f프 (1), he히 or오 she쉬 shall섈 notify노우터^f파이 the^ð더 cargo카고우 owner오우너 of어^v브 the^ð더 goods구즈 or오 a어 person퍼슨 authorized오^θ써^r라이즈드 by바이 the^ð더 cargo카고우 owner오우너 of어^v브 such서치 fact.^f팩트

④ 세관장은 제3항에 따른 통지를 할 때에는 이행기간을 정하여 원산지 표시의 수정 등 필요한 조치를 명할 수 있다. 이 경우 지정한 이행기간 내에 명령을 이행하지 아니하면 매각한다는 뜻을 함께 통지하여야 한다.

⑤ 세관장은 제4항 전단에 따른 명령이 이행된 경우에는 제1항에 따른 물품의 유치를 즉시 해제하여야 한다.

⑥ 세관장은 제4항 전단에 따른 명령이 이행되지 아니한 경우에는 이를 매각할 수 있다. 이 경우 매각 방법 및 절차에 관하여는 제160조제4항부터 제6항까지 및 제210조를 준용한다.
