가족관계의 등록 등에 관한 법률 제88조(사형, 재소 중 사망)

① 사형의 집행이 있는 때에는 교도소장은 지체 없이 교도소 소재지의 시ㆍ읍ㆍ면의 장에게 사망의 통보를 하여야 한다.

② 제1항은 재소 중 사망한 사람의 사체를 찾아갈 사람이 없는 경우에 준용한다. 이 경우 통보서에 진단서 또는 검안서를 첨부하여야 한다.
