① 다음 각 호의 기관(이하 "감염병병원체 확인기관"이라 한다)은 실험실 검사 등을 통하여 감염병병원체를 확인할 수 있다. <개정 2020.8.11, 2023.5.19>

9. 인체에서 채취한 검사물에 대한 검사를 국가, 지방자치단체, 의료기관 등으로부터 위탁받아 처리하는 기관 중 진단검사의학과 전문의가 상근하는 기관

② 질병관리청장은 감염병병원체 확인의 정확성ㆍ신뢰성을 확보하기 위하여 감염병병원체 확인기관의 실험실 검사능력을 평가하고 관리할 수 있다. <개정 2020.8.11>
