주민등록법 제2조(사무의 관장)

① 주민등록에 관한 사무는 특별자치시장ㆍ특별자치도지사ㆍ시장ㆍ군수 또는 자치구의 구청장(이하 "시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장"이라 한다)이 관장(管掌)한다. <개정 2022.1.11>

②시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장은 제1항에 따른 해당 권한의 일부를 그 지방자치단체의 조례로 정하는 바에 따라 「제주특별자치도 설치 및 국제자유도시 조성을 위한 특별법」 제11조에 따른 행정시장이나 그 관할구역 내의 자치구가 아닌 구의 구청장ㆍ읍ㆍ면ㆍ동장 또는 출장소장에게 위임할 수 있다. <개정 2022.1.11>
