교도관직무규칙 제2조(정의)

1. "교도관"이란 다음 각 목의 어느 하나에 해당하는 업무를 담당하는 공무원을 말한다.

3. "직업훈련교도관"이란 「전문경력관 규정」 제2조제1항에 따른 전문경력관 임용절차에 따라 임용된 사람으로서 「국민 평생 직업능력 개발법」 제33조에 따른 직업능력개발훈련교사를 말한다.

4. "보건위생직교도관"이란 「공무원임용령」 별표 1에 따른 의무ㆍ약무ㆍ간호ㆍ의료기술ㆍ식품위생직렬공무원을 말하며, 해당 직렬에 따라 각각 의무직교도관, 약무직교도관, 간호직교도관, 의료기술직교도관, 식품위생직교도관으로 한다.

5. "기술직교도관"이란 「공무원임용령」 별표 1에 따른 공업ㆍ농업ㆍ시설ㆍ전산ㆍ방송통신ㆍ운전직렬공무원을 말한다.

6. "관리운영직교도관"이란 「공무원임용령」 별표 1에 따른 관리운영직군공무원을 말한다.

7. "상관"이란 직무수행을 할 때 다른 교도관을 지휘ㆍ감독할 수 있는 직위나 직급에 있는 교도관을 말한다.

8. "당직간부"란 교정시설의 장(이하 "소장"이라 한다)이 지명하는 교정직교도관으로서 보안과의 보안업무 전반에 걸쳐 보안과장을 보좌하고, 휴일 또는 야간(당일 오후 6시부터 다음날 오전 9시까지를 말한다. 이하 같다)에 소장을 대리하는 사람을 말한다.
