1. 보호구역 및 민간인통제선의 경계는 지적경계선, 다른 법률에 따른 지역ㆍ지구ㆍ구역의 경계선 및 도로, 하천, 임야, 그 밖의 자연적 또는 인공적 지형지물을 이용하여 지정하되, 해당 보호구역에 대하여 군사작전 또는 안전을 위하여 필요한 경우에는 해당 보호구역 지정범위의 기준선으로부터 일정한 거리로 경계를 지정할 수 있다.
