재외국민보호를 위한 영사조력법 시행령 제12조(재외국민 범죄피해 시의 영사조력)

① 재외공관의 장은 법 제12조제1항에 따라 범죄피해를 입은 재외국민에게 다음 각 호에 관한 정보를 제공해야 한다.

② 재외공관의 장은 범죄피해를 입은 재외국민이 요청하는 경우 그 피해 사실을 가족 등 연고자에게 알려야 한다.

(2) Where웨어 an앤 overseas오우^v버시즈 Korean코^r리언 national내셔늘 who후 has해즈 suffered서^f퍼드 crime크^r라임 damage대머지 so소우 requests,^r리퀘스츠 the^ð더 head헤드 of어^v브 the^ð디 overseas오우^v버시즈 diplomatic디플러매틱 mission미션 shall섈 inform인^f폼 family^f패멀리 or오 other어^ð더 persons퍼슨즈 with위^ð드 ties타이즈 of어^v브 the^ð더 damage.대머지

③ 재외공관의 장은 재외국민의 범죄피해 정도가 심각하다고 판단하는 경우에는 피해자와의 면담 등을 통해 사건의 경위 및 피해 내용을 확인하고 이를 외교부장관에게 보고해야 한다.

④ 재외공관의 장은 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 경우에는 가능한 범위에서 재외국민에게 피해를 입힌 범죄 사건에 대한 수사 또는 재판 진행 상황을 확인해야 한다.

⑤ 재외공관의 장은 범죄피해를 입은 재외국민이 요청하는 경우에는 제4항에 따라 확인한 수사 또는 재판 진행 상황을 연락 가능한 가족 등 연고자에게 알려야 한다.
