주민등록법 제25조(주민등록증 등의 확인)

① 국가기관, 지방자치단체, 공공단체, 사회단체, 기업체 등에서 해당 업무를 수행할 때에 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 경우로서 17세 이상의 자에 대하여 성명ㆍ사진ㆍ주민등록번호 또는 주소를 확인할 필요가 있으면 증빙서류를 붙이지 아니하고 주민등록증 또는 모바일 주민등록증(이하 "주민등록증등"이라 한다)으로 확인하여야 한다. 다만, 대통령령으로 정한 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <개정 2022.1.11, 2023.12.26>

② 행정안전부장관은 주민등록정보시스템을 이용하여 주민등록확인서비스(휴대전화 등 정보통신기기로 제1항 본문에 따른 성명ㆍ사진ㆍ주민등록번호 또는 주소를 확인할 수 있는 서비스를 말한다. 이하 같다)를 제공할 수 있다. <신설 2022.1.11>

③ 주민등록확인서비스를 이용하여 성명ㆍ사진ㆍ주민등록번호 또는 주소를 확인한 경우 제1항에 따라 주민등록증등으로 성명ㆍ사진ㆍ주민등록번호 또는 주소를 확인한 것으로 본다. <신설 2022.1.11, 2023.12.26>
