평생교육법 제18조(평생교육 통계조사 등)

① 교육부장관 및 시ㆍ도지사는 평생교육의 실시 및 지원에 관한 현황 등 기초자료를 조사하고 이와 관련된 통계를 공개하여야 한다. <개정 2008.2.29, 2013.3.23>

② 평생교육과 관련된 업무 담당자 및 평생교육기관 운영자 등은 제1항의 조사에 협조하여야 한다.

③ 교육부장관은 평생교육 통계조사의 정확성 제고 및 조사업무 경감을 위하여 관련 자료를 보유한 중앙행정기관의 장, 지방자치단체의 장 및 「공공기관의 운영에 관한 법률」에 따른 공공기관의 장 등 관계 기관의 장(이하 "관계 행정기관등의 장"이라 한다)에게 자료 간 연계를 요청할 수 있다. 이 경우 자료 간 연계를 요청받은 관계 행정기관등의 장은 특별한 사유가 없으면 이에 따라야 한다. <신설 2021.6.8>

④ 교육부장관은 평생교육 통계조사에 의하여 수집된 자료를 이용하고자 하는 자에게 이를 제공할 수 있다. 이 경우 특정의 개인이나 법인 또는 단체를 식별할 수 없는 형태로 자료를 제공하여야 한다. <신설 2021.6.8>

⑤ 교육부장관은 평생교육 통계조사 등의 업무를 위하여 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 국가평생교육통계센터를 지정하여 그 업무를 위탁할 수 있다. 이 경우 교육부장관은 위탁받은 업무 수행에 필요한 경비를 지원할 수 있다. <신설 2021.6.8>
