국가인권위원회법 제26조(인권교육과 홍보)

① 위원회는 모든 사람의 인권 의식을 깨우치고 향상시키기 위하여 필요한 인권교육과 홍보를 하여야 한다.

② 위원회는 「초ㆍ중등교육법」 제23조에 따른 학교 교육과정에 인권에 관한 내용을 포함시키기 위하여 국가교육위원회와 협의할 수 있다. <개정 2013.3.23, 2021.7.20>

③ 위원회는 인권교육과 인권에 관한 연구의 발전을 위하여 필요한 사항을 「고등교육법」 제2조에 따라 설립된 학교의 장과 협의할 수 있다.

④ 위원회는 공무원의 채용시험, 승진시험, 연수 및 교육훈련 과정에 인권에 관한 내용을 포함시키기 위하여 국가기관 및 지방자치단체의 장과 협의할 수 있다.

⑤ 위원회는 군인권침해를 개선ㆍ예방하기 위한 인권교육을 위하여 국방부장관과 협의할 수 있다. <신설 2022.1.4>

⑥ 위원회는 「정부출연연구기관 등의 설립ㆍ운영 및 육성에 관한 법률」 제8조 및 제18조와 「과학기술분야 정부출연연구기관 등의 설립ㆍ운영 및 육성에 관한 법률」 제8조 및 제18조에 따라 설립된 연구기관 또는 연구회의 장과 협의하여 인권에 관한 연구를 요청하거나 공동으로 연구할 수 있다. <개정 2022.1.4>
